# About Cross-Platform Features

Features that work on **both the web app and the iPad mobile app**. Use this section when you want to understand a feature end-to-end — how to configure it on the web, and how it behaves for crews in the field.

## What lives here

| **Hydra**                                          | Sync-engine technology that powers offline-first Records and media                       |
| **Roles-Based Access Controls (RBAC)**             | Permissions model — who can see and do what                                              |
| **Project Members**                                | Adding people to a Project and assigning roles                                           |
| **Pre-Registered Records & Offline Collaboration** | Pre-create Records on web; whole crews work the same Record offline                      |
| **Calculated Fields**                              | Auto-calculated values across Records                                                    |
| **Conditional Visibility**                         | Show or hide fields based on other field values                                          |
| **Ripple**                                         | The formula engine that drives calculated fields, visibility, spatial logic, and rollups |

## How these pages are organized

Each cross-platform feature page has two sections inside it:

* **Configuring (Web)** — what the admin or project manager does on the web app to set the feature up.
* **Using in the Field (Mobile)** — how field crews interact with the feature on iPad.

This way, one feature = one page, no matter how many surfaces it touches.
