2. Select **Annotate** from the menu.

> **Screenshot placeholder:** *The Tools & Measurements menu open, with "Annotate" highlighted.*

### Annotation Types

Choose from the following drawing tools:

* **Sketch** — Freehand drawing
* **Rectangle** — Tap and drag to draw a rectangle
* **Circle** — Tap and drag to draw a circle
* **Arrow** — Draw a directional arrow

## Measurement Mode

Measurement mode lets you calculate distances and areas directly on the map.

### Accessing Measurement Mode

1. Tap the **Tools & Measurements** icon in the top-right map controls.
2. Select **Measure** from the menu.

### Measurement Types

* **Line** — Measures distance along a path
* **Polygon** — Measures the area of an enclosed shape

### Placing Points

Two input methods are available:

* **Crosshair mode** — Tap **Add Point** to place a point at the map center. Use this for precision placement, especially when zoomed in.
* **Sketch mode** — Draw freehand on the map to place points along a path or around an area.

> **Screenshot placeholder:** *Measurement in progress on the map, showing a polygon with live area readout at the top of the sheet.*

### Units

Switch between unit systems at any time:

* **Imperial** — feet, miles, acres
* **Metric** — meters, kilometers, hectares

### Live Measurement Display

As you add points, the current measurement updates live at the top of the sheet so you can see the distance or area in real time.

### Saving Measurements

* New, unsaved measurements appear as a **dashed line** on the map.
* Tap the **checkmark** to save the measurement.
* Saved measurements appear as a **solid line** and are retained on the map.
