A larger follow-up to v3.0 that introduced two of the most-used field-work conveniences in modern Codifi — **Quick GPS Create** and **Battery Saver mode** — along with a meaningful privacy improvement and a long list of stability fixes.

## Features

#### Quick GPS Create **`Mobile`**

Single-point archetypes now show a single **Create** button on the Record-creation screen that instantly stamps the Record at your current GPS location, skipping manual map placement entirely. The right toggle for high-volume single-point workflows: shovel test pits, photo stations, isolated finds, monitoring observations.

A surveyor standing at the right spot can capture a Record in one tap instead of three. Configurable per archetype — see [Mobile Project Settings → Quick GPS Create](/codifi-docs/mobile-app/mobile-project-settings.md#quick-gps-create).

#### Battery Saver Mode **`Mobile`**

A new Project setting that reduces GPS polling frequency, lowers map update rates, and dims background processing when on battery. Designed for long field days where keeping the iPad alive matters more than millisecond-fresh GPS readings.

Pairs with the new **GPS puck compass rotation**, which shows your facing direction without continuous heading polling — the puck now rotates based on the device's magnetometer rather than constantly running the GPS heading subsystem.

## Enhancements

* **`Mobile`** **Location permission downgraded from "Always" to "When In Use"** — Codifi no longer requests background location access. The "Always" permission was over-broad for what the app actually needs; "When In Use" is sufficient for every Codifi field workflow. Field crews who declined the original "Always" prompt no longer see Codifi as a privacy concern, and IT teams provisioning iPads have one fewer permission to vet.
* **`Mobile`** **VisionCamera GPS bearing now correct in any device orientation** — Photos captured with the iPad held in landscape, upside down, or rotated mid-capture now Record the correct compass bearing in EXIF metadata. Previously, only portrait-orientation captures were accurate.
* **`Mobile`** **VisionCamera EXIF branding removed at source** — Photos captured in Codifi no longer carry "VisionCamera" branding in their EXIF metadata. Photos look like clean device captures.

## Bug Fixes

#### Mobile

* Fixed a compass unsubscribe race condition that could prematurely stop GPS heading updates.
* Fixed three map interaction and rendering issues affecting pan, zoom, and overlay redraws.
* Restored user-facing toasts in production builds (they were being silently suppressed).
* Fixed a focused-field reference being lost when toolbar arrow navigation reached a section boundary.
* Fixed a double-tap bug caused by `LiquidGlassView` and `Touchable` hierarchy ordering on iOS 26.
* Replaced `LiquidGlassView` with `BlurView` on field-edit containers to fix rendering issues on certain iOS 26 builds.
* Fixed a minor `Info.plist` configuration issue.
* Trimmed the GPS debug panel decimal display and nudged the iPhone scale bar position for better visibility.
