Overlay features become first-class citizens on mobile — turn them into Records, inspect their properties, and work with them in smarter data tables — while the web app rounds out the 3.2 redesign with a richer photo lightbox, GeoPackage exports from everywhere, and a batch of fixes from the first week of 3.2 in the field. *** ## Features #### Create Records from Overlays **`Mobile`** Turn any overlay feature into a new Record. The Record starts with the feature's shape already in place — point, line, or polygon — plus a suggested name taken from the feature itself. Want a different name? Pick any of the feature's properties (an ID, a label, an address) to use as the Record name instead. Only Archetypes that can hold the feature's shape are offered, so everything stays consistent with your Project's rules. Long-press the map to open **Nearby Features**, then tap the **+** icon on an overlay feature. Jump in from **Nearby Features** or by tapping a feature's name in a data table, then tap **Back** to land right where you left off. #### Smarter Data Tables **`Mobile`** Open a data table from Nearby Features and the feature you tapped is already highlighted, scrolled into view, and marked on the map. A new **Truncate** switch expands long text so you can read complete values, and tapping a feature's name opens its full detail view. #### Photo Lightbox: Details Panel & Sharing **`Web`** The full-screen photo viewer introduced in 3.2 gets a major upgrade. The details panel now lets you change a photo's media subtype and edit its Fields inline, without leaving the viewer. New **Copy** and **Download** buttons grab the image at full resolution. Every photo also gets a shareable link — the lightbox opens straight from a URL and reopens after a page refresh, and the browser **Back** button closes it the way you'd expect. #### GeoPackage Export Everywhere **`Web`** GeoPackage (.gpkg) export now works the same from every entry point — the Records menu, export modals, and the map — and it's context-aware, so it exports the Records you're actually looking at. [Learn more →](/codifi-docs/web-app/gis-exports.md) #### Two-Step New Project Wizard **`Web`** Creating a Project from the dashboard is now a two-step wizard: choose the Composition first, then name the Project. Less to take in at once, and harder to launch a Project from the wrong template. *** ## Enhancements * **`Web`** **Access requests, front and center** — Users who request access to your organization now appear in **Settings → Users** with clear action items, so admins can invite or dismiss them without hunting. * **`Web`** **Analytics export upgrades** — Exporting from the Analytics Dashboard has been overhauled, with clearer options and richer output. * **`Web`** **Library grids remember your layout** — Column widths you set in the Modules and Compositions grids now persist across sessions. * **`Web`** **Tighter permission enforcement** — Editing Project Details fields, creating or deleting a Record's location, and adding or removing Project assignees now consistently respect the corresponding role permissions everywhere they appear. * **`Mobile`** **Bearing on photos by default** — The Bearing upload field is now enabled by default, so the compass direction is captured with your photos. * **`Mobile`** **Steadier map camera** — Dismissing a Record's map card no longer shifts the camera away from where you were looking. * **`Web`** **`Mobile`** **`Backend`** **Security hardening** — Continued security work across the platform aligned with CMMC Level 2 controls. *** ## Bug Fixes ### Web & Mobile * Fixed raster layers (LiDAR hillshade, elevation, historical topo) sometimes drawing **over** vector overlays or Records depending on how the map loaded. Raster imagery is now pinned to the bottom of the stack — beneath vector overlays, which stay beneath your Records — and the map draws the same way every time, on both platforms. ### Web * Fixed historical USGS topo layers failing to load in some Projects; the proxy is now only used when it's actually needed. * Fixed Records list sorting. * Fixed Record status display issues. * Added a guard — with a clearer message — for Archetypes that can't have a status but had a status definition configured. * Fixed layout issues in the assignee popup.
