# Adding Map Overlays

Map Overlays are configured in the Project Settings on the Web. Follow the example to navigate to **Map Data Overlays** in the Project Settings.

Next, press the **+ button** and upload a GeoJSON file. The file will be parsed, processed, and converted into proprietary Map Overlays, bundling the associated data table for each geometry layer along with its styles. These overlays are automatically kept in sync with any changes made in the Project settings and are seamlessly downloaded for offline use in the mobile app, ensuring consistent access across all platforms.

Next, we'll add styles to your **Map Overlays**.
